HPC Wales User & Project Migration
For all users of HPC Wales systems,
We are pleased to inform you that the first of the new Supercomputing Wales systems is now available for general access & use. This first system is the ‘Hawk’ system and is for the use of Cardiff and Bangor users only at this time. The second system, which is for Swansea & Aberystwyth users, will follow in a few weeks.
In order to migrate from HPCW to SCW and access Hawk please follow the process described on our new Information Portal at https://portal.supercomputing.wales/index.php/getting-access/

In order to migrate from HPCW to SCW and access Hawk please follow the process described on our new Information Portal at https://portal.supercomputing.wales/index.php/getting-access/
- If you do not appear to be known to My SCW (i.e. you are not presented with the Dashboard screen), you are an external guest user not from one of the four partner universities, or some of your details are incorrect, then please contact us as below.
- Existing project memberships have been migrated so no further action should be needed. However, if you believe that the project information is incorrect please contact us as below.
The Information Portal presents much more SCW help including FAQs, various guides and best practice information at https://portal.supercomputing.wales
In particular, please visit the rapid start information for HPCW users migrating to SCW Hawk at: https://portal.supercomputing.wales/index.php/quick-start-for-hpc-wales-users-migrating-to-scw-hawk/
Note that the existing HPC Wales services will continue until a few weeks after the other new system is in service to support Swansea & Aberystwyth users. HPC Wales systems will then be turned off, so any non-migrated data will become unavailable.
For all support queries please contact us via the portal or email the Support Desk at support@supercomputingwales.ac.uk
